A MULTIGENERATIONAL DISCUSSION ON SELF LOVE

“ That thing you give is the thing you will get back afterward.  It’s energetic, it’s comedy, it’s love, it’s sex, it’s lust, it’s dirty, it’s messy… it’s all of it.” – Noma Dumezweni

The sentiments of embarking on a new year often last longer than one expects. Lists are generally bound to the fortitude to do something.  Do more. Do less…Do you.

From fitness to finance and everything between, we often neglect to understand the space that self-love and self-care holds. To explore this notion, we invited 4 accomplished women from different walks of life and unknown to each other, for an evening of pampering and candid conversations on self-love in the luxe environs of a sumptuous suite at The Chambers Hotel in NYC.

There were no scripts.

There were no guard rails.

OUR GUESTS

THE CONVERSATION

During their time together, Noma, Ashley, Tiffany, and Lana discussed ageism, the evolving standards of Black beauty, toxic relationships, and navigating the digital space.  It was a memorable evening where validating one’s truth stood side by side with the notion of finding one’s tribe. In sharing their personal journeys in this intimate space, a sense of sisterhood was found. This is true community.

Thank you to all of the beauty sponsors involved and to the Chambers Hotel for providing such a stunning venue! We also want to extend a special thank you to our incredible massage therapist Crystal Schroeder, for helping provide an evening of pampering and relaxation through her services.
