Health and wellness are incredibly important to maintain, even when it may seem impossible to do. Whether you’re a stay at home mom, a career woman, self-employed, or all of the above fitness routines are hard to manage. It’s not only difficult to find the time, but the same can be said for mustering up the motivation to exercise. If you have body goals and a busy schedule here are a few fitness hacks to keep in mind.

Include The Family

During one of this country’s longest health-related lockdowns ever it’s almost impossible to find a gym to workout at. Don’t fret, you can still get your steps and reps in while doing other things. If you’re at home with the kids try to find fun ways to stay active while including the family.

This can include a family bike ride, a walk or hike in the park, or doing a few quick squats while feeding the baby. In the safest way possible, of course. With this strategy, you can spend more time with your family while burning calories also. Cooking clean meals together can also be a great way to bond and try out some new recipes!

Exercise At Work

If you’re working remotely, or still working in an office there are several ways to keep health on the brain during the workday. Julia Delitt details how her mini office workouts made her a more productive employee in her 2017 piece for Self.

“Working out over lunch has made me a more productive employee, better able to lead my teams, and most of all, less stressed and more committed to exercise as a whole.”

Some of Julia’s tips include eating smaller meals throughout the day, being transparent with team members about your exercising, trying to get in a short jog in the morning, and packing workout clothes. All of these tips will come in handy when you decide what your office workout will look like. Sitting down all day for too long has a negative effect on our bodies, studies show. If you can find time to walk around your office or outside, pacing around while you’re on an important call, or buying a stability ball to sit on, you’re making progress.

Be Realistic With Your Goals

It’s important to avoid overwhelming yourself with your exercise routine or weight goals. Take everything one day at a time. There will be times where 24 hours doesn’t seem like enough time to get anything done. With this in mind, you should work on managing your time better so that you’re completing your tasks no matter what.

You can even have designated days to work on certain parts of your body so that you have something to aim for. Most importantly, you will need yourself or someone you trust to hold you accountable. I know it’s tempting to get home after a long day and just fall into bed – however, you will never feel worse after a workout. Start utilizing some of the tiny fitness hacks above as soon as you can and watch all your fitness goals come to fruition.
